A new World Record is set of 102 Barndoors!

What an EPIC weekend! The 2nd European Barndoor Gathering & Vintage VW Show aka the Ben Pon Show brought together a total of 105 Barndoor buses over the weekend and set a new World-Record of 102 Barndoors on-site on May 19, 2018!
THANKS to everyone who attended, supported, volunteered, sponsored, and visited the show. Much love goes out to the complete BDG2 Crew and my beloved family and wife Marieke for their eternal support and trust!
Hope to see you all again in 2022!!

Only a couple of days to go before the show! And we will be on-site to prepare it all for you guys.
This also means we aren't behind the computer all the time and replying to your e-mails, private and text messages etc. can take longer as normal. We hope you understand.

Also the online ticket pre-sale has stopped, but besides on-site camping all Tickets are available at the gate at the entrance of the show. so be sure to visit the event this weekend with your participating vintage VW, later model aircooled VW or even with your daily car. Parking wise we got you covered!

We are sorry and also proud to say the ON-SITE CAMPING plots are FULL, SOLD OUT, TAKEN... as mentioned the event takes place in the middle of the city centre of Amersfoort, camping plots are only 4,5x4,5m big and on-site space is/was limited. But of course we do have several arrangements with Camping’s and Hotels in the surrounding area. Thanks for understanding, and thanks for all the early birds for pre-booking. The number just keeps on growing, were now at Banrdoor number 105! Number 105 is Florian George his stunning 1951 'Barndoor from the Swamp'. Check out the rescue of this bus here, and look at it now! He will do a maiden voyage of 1.200KM all the way from France to the Ben Pon Show in Amersfoort!!

100!! WOW!! ...three digits! No words!

BBT Bob Van Heyst is not only briging his Schwimmwagen, he just let us know that the BBT Crew will be bringing another two Barndoor Buses as well... making us hit that magical three digit number 100! Awesome!! Be there for the 2018 Barndoor record attempt on Saturday at 14.00 o'clock!

Mr Etienne van Bezu from EVAM CLASSIC / VW SPLIT PARTS just dropped in Barndoor number 95! How cool!! We can't wait to see how many will be there eventually for the record attempt on Saturday at 14.00 o'clock! ...will we have more than 76... will we be hitting the 3 digits?!? Be there!!

Watercooled Parking...

We advice visitors to come by public transport, as the show is located directly next to the Amersfoort Central Train Station it's very easy to get there. But if you are coming to the show with your daily watercooled car we do have a special parking for you, right next to the show, only €10,- costs for a full day of parking! See you there!

Great news. The Volkswagen Nutzfahrzeuge Oldtimer from Hannover Germany will bring 'Sofie'! This 68 Year beauty was born in 1950 and is number 80 in our (on)line-up participants register. We can't wait to welcome them at the show in Amersfoort.

Well thats a new World Record!

We just registered Barndoor number 77! Meaning with the current record at 76 and if all will make it to the show on May 19th, 2018 we will set a NEW WORLD RECORD!
Also what's really amazing is the fact that 44 of the buses we registered now are "new", as in, these were not at the 2014 show... meaning we could top the record big time. So curious about all this and we hope everyone will make it there safe and sound!

As mentioned the weekend before the SBOM5 - Split Buses Only Meeting in Spain will take place, they will convoy that week towards Amersfoort. There will be the Open House & BBQ at Evam Classic & Klassic Fab in Woerden, the Netherlands on Friday before the show.
And if your planning to stay longer be sure to visit the Split- & Ovalwindow Day in Wilnis the Netherlands on Sunday May 27th as well! All this is definitly worth visiting and staying for.

On Friday, May 18th from 14.00 - 19.00 o'clock there will be an ‘Open-house & BBQ’ at Klassic Fab and Evam Classic, the European importer of the funky green panels in Woerden the Netherlands Everyone is invited to participate! We also advice all early birds and convoy's to go there first as we are NOT alowed on the show area any sooner!! Later that evening the cruise continues to the 'Ben Pon Show' in Amersfoort!

123 days to go and 60 Barndoors registered!

123 days to go before the big event and we just now published Barndoor number 60 in the (on)line-up gallery! From Serial-Kombi, Mr. Giulio Bardelli's awesome 1954 Panel as featured in AirMighty #25 just dropped in!
Amazing to see is the fact that almost 30 of the registered Barndoor buses are "new" as in, didn't where there in 2014. So yes, our expectations are high!
Also we uploaded 22 pre-57 VW Beetles, 57 Spitwindow Buses, and also a 1953 Dannenhauer & Stauss, Schwimmer and some amazing Type 14 and Type 34 Karmann Ghia's!

Oh man, we received over 50 Barndoor bus registrations already!! Amazing, and we must beat that record from 2014.
